This is my most ambitious cover/arrangement related to Coheed and Cambria to date. If you're not familiar, this song is from Claudio Sanchez's side project, The Prize Fighter Inferno. It was originally all synth parts and samples that Claudio programmed himself, with his overdubbed vocals on top. When I heard it, I immediately envisioned a middle school percussion ensemble (I teach percussion for a living and these are my students) with the childlike and singsong nature of the piece, and also the way the parts repeated as a round and how they cleverly wove in and out of each other, with the end result being much deeper than the sum of its parts.

The kids absolutely adored this song, and I love arranging them more popular style music that keeps them hooked and interested. Every percussionist is a 7th or 8th grader at Cobb Middle School in Frisco, TX, except for the drummer and cabasa player who are high schoolers at Wakeland High School.

The vocalists, along with myself, are all professional musicians in the DFW area and friends of mine. It is truly amazing and enjoyable to take Claudio's multi-layered vocals, and sing them live with multiple people. Something that he can't ever truly reproduce live.

The performers are:
