PRESENTED BY LEE ANN McADOO

The Dearest is the musical lovechild of songwriters Adam Mackintosh and Anna Sacks. The pair met in 2006 at Steel Bridge Songfest in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, which marked the beginning of nearly five years (and counting!) of inspired collaboration. The singular combination of their distinct musical styles results in songs that (in the words of songwriter extraordinaire pat mAcdonald) "revel in the beauty of it all." Based in Los Angeles, California, The Dearest is proud to perform and record with a revolving, evolving cast of extraordinary players, including Dano Capristo, Rick Clark, Adam Daniel, David Graham, Kelly Lemieux, Christopher Lawrence, Scotty Lund, John McDuffie, Eric McFadden, and Nikita Sorokin. Adam and Anna are currently completing work on The Dearest's debut EP with drummer/producer Dano Capristo (Portland, OR).

Anna Sacks started writing songs in 2005 while living in San Francisco. A trip to Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin for the Steel Bridge Songfest in June 2006 proved to be a life-altering experience; Anna moved to Sturgeon Bay six weeks later. In May of 2007, she was one of 14 investors to purchase what is now the Holiday Music Motel in Sturgeon Bay, a charming 1950s motor lodge. The group, consisting of musicians and music enthusiasts (including Jackson Browne and Steel Bridge Songfest co-founders pat mAcdonald and Christie Weber) put a recording studio in the motel and set out to make it a destination for collaborative songwriting. (To date, more than 300 original songs have been written and recorded at the Holiday Motel.) After spending three years in Wisconsin managing the motel and collaborating with a great many talented songwriters (including pat mAcdonald, Adam Mackintosh, Geri X, Eric McFadden, Susan Howe, Seth Raddatz and Delaney Davidson), Anna moved to Venice, California in August 2009, and is currently devoting her musical self to The Dearest.

Adam Mackintosh is a unique American songwriter born and raised in Fremont, CA. 2010 came with several major mile stones including a performance of "Forbidden Fruit" by The Portland Symphony and Storm Large as well as a featured placement of "Steamtrain" in Westbound. After 6 European tours, 5 years in New Orleans, 6 years in Portland and three years in Wisconsin writing with some of the nations best writers, Adam has shared stages and recordings with James Hall of The Pleasure Club, Joseph Arthur, Eric McFadden, Storm Large, Anna Sacks, Jackson Browne, Pat mAcdonald (Timbuk 3), Clyde Stubblefield (James Brown's Funky Drummer), Lynda Kay Parker and a multitude of industry professionals. Adam has performed at over 500 concerts in the US and Europe.. Adam currently resides in Hollywood, CA. and performs frequently as lead singer of The Last Dancers, collaborating songwriter and singer in The Dearest (with Anna Sacks) and lead guitar player for Ruby James.
