THAT'S KILLIN' VOL. 2 - SEASON PREMIERE : AARON DIEHL + ADAM BIRNBAUM
LIVE! AT STEINWAY HALL

Our season premiere kicks off with Aaron Diehl and Adam Birnbaum, two very talented up and coming pianists turning heads on the New York City Jazz scene.

This sophisticated pair has played together on occasion and chose to pay tribute to Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn's classic "Tonk" (1946) in a rare back-to-back piano setup at the historic Steinway Hall in Midtown Manhattan.

Mr. Diehl, hailed by the New York Times as a "Revelation," is the 2011 Cole Porter Fellow in Jazz of the American Pianists Association. He has performed with many of today's Jazz greats and most recently has toured with the Grammy-nominated vocalist Cecile McLorin Salvant, while serving as bandleader for his own release, "The Bespoke Man's Narrative."

Mr. Birnbaum, an alumnus of the inaugural Julliard Jazz program, has appeared at all of the major Jazz venues in the city. He most recently appeared on Broadway as part of "After Midnight," musically directed by trumpeter and educator Wynton Marsalis.
