This week we go a little bit beyond using Absynth by itself , the biggest sounds just need some extra tweaking sometimes!

You can make all the sounds you wish in Absynth, but sometimes its easier and faster to work with audio files. In this video I show you how I create the core of my sound in Absynth, I take a kick drum and freeze it in granular mode. This means that it's gonna sound like a normal, but pretty aggressive, waveform.

Once you've done that you can apply some extra processing like the frequency shifter or some filters. The last step inside Absynth would be to look at your master FX page and choose some effects that you like.
But it does not end here!

After I've done that I usually bounce the file down to audio, this makes it easier on the CPU but also a lot more flexible, because now we can do stuff like reversing and time stretching. I then layer the audio files into 3 or more frequency bands, normally those would be; Low, Mid and Highs. At this point I have a lot of control over the sound and I can easily apply effects to only the highs and make the lows mono. This is a great approach to get big and aggressive sounds, so go check it out!

See you next week!
