This is the vocal audition for the Velvet Revolver search for a new lead singer sung by LA based singer, recording artist Lorenzo. His audition debut that you are listening to here has been "number one with a bullet" above all other VR auditions for 2 years running!

The back story: Lorenzo was sent an instrumental track by VR's management company that was performed by Slash, Duff and Matt, with instructions for Lorenzo to write lyrics, record vocals and return the new audio track to the management company for consideration by VR to fill the position as new lead singer for the band.

Lorenzo rose to the challenge, and was able to record and return the version you are now hearing to VR's management company in a lightning fast, 5 short days!

When judging this performance, It should be noted, Lorenzo wrote the melody, lyrics, then produced and recorded all lead and background vocals in less than 5 short days, before returning the track to VR management and catching a flight out of town!

So what you are hearing is all 1st draft demo, with no re-writes on the lyrics or any time to develop his parts! This is what Lorenzo's 1st drafts sound like! Normally, when Lorenzo works on a song, he likes to further flesh out and develop his lyrics and melodies etc. But time constraints would not allow that on this track and he wanted to get something back to VR immediately before he had to leave town.

And as you can read for yourselves, hundreds of loyal VR fans themselves, worldwide, agree, that Lorenzo's 1st draft demo sounds f'n amazing! Imagine what he could do with the band if he had time to develop the songs in the usual way professionals do when writing and recording?
