Boom pole holders are ESSENTIAL for tiny crew productions. For interviews, I like booming so much more than lav mics since you don't see the microphone. However, it's incredible how categorizing a tool as a "piece of film gear" allows companies to charge you 300% more for it. Buying this fishing pole holder rather than a boom pole holder is not sacrificing ANYTHING in terms of quality or robustness.

Unfortunately there's no fishing product that can substitute for a C-stand, but they're still an incredible value. You can pay well over $200 for a good C-stand, but the one I'm using (https://amzn.to/2PshcNy) is a really affordable one.
