Panhandle was probably one of those 'one time' studio pet projects.
An obscure album consisting of ten songs written by other artists, and recorded simply for the exercise.
It featured some of England's best studio musicians, most of whom have extensive music credentials.
Rodger Bain produced the first three albums for Black Sabbath.
Chris Spedding, Herbie Flowers, Barry Morgan, and Liza Strike appeared on Elton's "Tumbleweed Connection", and "Madman Across the Water".
Spedding's credits are too numerous to mention here, but he did produce the first Sex Pistols demos in 1976, and produced what would have been The Cramps first (but still-born) album in January 1979.
His work with singer Robert Gordon is well noted.
Herbie Flowers founded band Blue Mink, and played bass with Marc Bolan and T-Rex during their last year (1976-77) as a touring band.
Flowers also recorded the unforgettable bass part on Lou Reed's "Walk on the Wild Side" in 1972.
And of course everyone is familiar with the late actor, comedian, and musician Dudley Moore.
As for vocalist Jon Gobin, not much is known outside that he may have once fronted a British psychedelic band called Selofane.
