John Howard --- "I Got My Lady" (1975) --- Rare live TV performance - Video
PUBLISHED:  Apr 01, 2011
DESCRIPTION:
Rare July 1975 television appearance by English singer-songwriter John Howard.

Howard was promoting his new single "I Got My Lady," from the album "Can You Hear Me OK?"

The album --- recorded for CBS Records in 1975 --- went unreleased until it was issued by RPM / Cherry Red in 2005.

"This was such a lovely show to be part of. Johnny Mathis was the star of the show; he sang 'Misty' and 'Winter Wonderland' (note the Christmas Tree behind me at the end of the clip). Lynsey De Paul sang 'No Honestly,' and I sang my latest single 'I Got My Lady.'

"Everyone was very kind on the day --- it was my first TV! I was 22 and thrilled to be doing the show. Outside the sun shone --- it was July '75 --- while inside we were celebrating Christmas! Johnny poured me some of his champagne, called me John-John, a real gentleman. Lynsey asked me how she should style her hair for the show and stood in the wings while I performed my song, smiling at me all the time. Yes, it was a very good day." ---JH
