Christian hip hop group 4th Avenue Jones released Stereo: The Evolution of Hiprocksoul on March 29, 2005, on Gotee Records. Prior to the album's release, the group sent a promotional single to radio, which was the title track, "Stereo". This single was also available for purchase at online retailers for a short period of time leading up to the album's release. This radio edit is noticeably different from the album version, being considerably longer (by approximately one minute) and featuring some rocking guitars. This version of the song was eventually released on the 2007 Gotee Hits compilation, however the compilation went virtually unnoticed due to its lack of sufficient promotion.
