DESCRIPTION:
This is a quite rare Speartone model 805 record player phonograph from the early `60s. A flip over 3 volt crystal cartridge runs through a one tube amplifier with both tone and volume controls and heavy duty 4 speed Alliance built turntable motor turning the platter. Speartone phonographs are quite rare and this model has quite a unique style with dual removable hinged speakers that attach to each side of the player cabinet. The interesting thing is the player is not Stereo but Mono, Speartone labels this as a "Tandem Sound" as you can see under the lid.

This player is in excellent condition, I rebuilt the amplifier with new electrolytic and paper caps as well as a full service on the motor and turntable assembly. Two new needles where installed on the wonderfully working original cartridge. I added a vintage correct tone arm brush for that period look. This unit looks and functions exactly like it did when new way back in the early `60s. With a 4 speed motor this unit will play ANY record you put on it form 16, 33,45s to 78s.
