BOLD ST BUSKERS: *THE JOHN LANGAN BAND* - Video
PUBLISHED:  Sep 30, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
John Langan hails from a little town on the fringe of Glasgow. Music is in his blood and bones. He began his career as a traveling troubadour at the tender age of fifteen when he left home to travel the globe, and he's been on the road honing his thing ever since.

The John Langan Band came together in 2008 soon after John had returned home to Glasgow. The time had come to form a firey threesome so he reeled in Mandolinist and Fiddler-fantastic Alastair Caplin and Double-Bass-Don Dave Tunstall. The trio has since melded into a new form of life force, breaking down all known musical barriers and becoming a new acoustic phenomenon in folk-funk-fusion which can only be described as: Fucking Awesome!

This year (April 2013) the band decided to unleash their first debut album called 'Bones of Contention' and it features eleven blistering tracks, nine of which are totally original compositions.

The music has a broad base of influences from Celtic folk to east European Romano Gypsy swing, Cajun, Flamenco, mixed in with some cool and rude Delta Blues.

If you have got a pulse, go see this band when they are next in your area.
