February 24 2009, The United States Mint launched a new coin featuring Duke Ellington, making him the first African American to appear by himself on a circulating U.S. coin

February 25 1956, Elvis Presley had his first national charting hit when 'I Forgot To Remember To Forget' hit No.1 on the Billboard Country & Western chart.

February 26 1932, Born on this day, Johnny Cash, legendary country singer, songwriter actor and author who had over 40 charting US singles. He had the Johnny Cash Show on ABC in the late 60s' and early 70s. Johnny is considered one of the most influential musicians of the 20th Century.

February 27 1988, George Michael notches his sixth No.1 US single with 'Father Figure'.

February 28 1989, Bob Dylan recorded the first sessions for the Oh Mercy album at The Studio, New Orleans, Louisiana. Oh Mercy was Bob's 26th studio album, and was produced by Daniel Lanois.

March 1 2009, Kelly Clarkson went to No.1 on the UK singles chart with 'My Life Would Suck Without You'. Kelly won American Idol in 2002 and became the first American Idol contestant to have topped the UK charts.
