What a night. I left straight from work and went to the show- I was worried about getting shut out like I was at the ghost ship benefit last Sunday. I get in and both bands were amazing. Where the Sidewalk Ends opened, and they were so good! I will see them next time they play, for sure. Then Monsula played. I had the Nickel EP from way back and have been listening to the LPs. They were shockingly great for not playing for 23 years. Wow. I met billie joe Armstrong and we had a nice chat about my Davis video from 1989. Then I got ready to drive Anthony Lew back to sac- we get to the car and my side window has been smashed and my work laptop stolen. I was so careful to prevent it from happening, but I joined the Oakland "smash and grab" club with Joe McKinney and Jeff Maxwell. Boo. Still a great night.
