MARC COOPER'S NEW CD: " RECEIVING & TRANSMITTING" IS NOW AVAILABLE!! This eclectic, organic spiritual instrumental CD is for those who love to meditate, have visions, dream, and feel, see, and hear healing through the music. This instrumental disc is a departure from the guitar driven recordings he has done in the past. He decided besides playing the guitars (acoustic and electric), and his guitar synth setup that he has come to incorporate into his recordings, he also played the drums, percussion, and fretless slide bass.
Recorded at Sound Garage studios in northern California, he filled the studio with people to come in and simply "soak" to the music. These sessions were originally recorded on guitar and each one last 45 minutes. From there he started his quest to record the other instruments and trim it to roughly 60 minutes of music that takes the listener on a journey. This recording plays as one entire track but you can access the 13 tracks (for digital download purposes) individually. It is recommended to be played in it's entirety.
The guitar work is richly textured and at times sounds unlike a guitar.there is a ethereal quality to the recording that has the ingredients for allowing healing through music to happen.
COOP PLAYED AT THE ALL STAR GUITAR NIGHT AT 2009 WINTER NAMM SHOW.
Several new CDs are in the works, A live double CD from the tour that recently happened in Singapore and the rumblings of a new band of mine. "The GYPSY SYNDICATE" that I'm excited to unleash soon. It's a sound that is a fusion of world, Middle East and Gypsy influenced original improvisations.

The other 4 songs cover a variety of styles: Full Throttle: a rocking geetar number , Moollon Bay (featuring Coop's Moollon custom shop overdrive /distortion pedal), From the Garden to Gethsamane (Coop's first recording where he extensively used his guitar synth. Even the intro sounds, birds, water, forest, outside of the sampled voices, was all played on his guitar synth setup). A Battle Cry ( his second recording doing all the violin strings and efx with his guitar synth / and also TURBULENT THOUGHTS where he plays extensive synth guitar and electric too. Seppo Salminen played some amazing drums on those three compositions).
Early on Coop has had the absolute pleasure of studying with some of the finest guitarists on the planet: Howard Roberts, Mick Goodrick, Tommy Tedesco, Ron Eschete, Pat Martino, Joe Diorio, Steve Morse, Robben Ford, Don Mock (!). and participated in classes with Joe Pass, Steve Travato and many others.
