Zvonimir Tot is a tremendous guitarist who appeared at the Whiskey Lounge as a sideman about a year ago and delivered a stunning performance. The audience ate it up and I was delighted when he approached me about coming back as a leader. Zvonimir just released a duet CD with one of the premier bassists in the city, Kelly Sill. The CD's title says it all: "Standards Live at the Jazz Showcase". The release is less than a month old, and I am delighted to welcome Zvonimir and Kelly to our stage to perform selections from their recording. I created the Whiskey Lounge shows to primarily feature jazz duets and trios, so though this pairing was not designed for our series, it is a perfect fit. I really look forward to hearing these two extraordinary players' musical conversations in our intimate setting. Fun! –SR
