DESCRIPTION:
Lyrics Below. I thought I would have a go at writing something in a Hank Williams/Jimmie Rodgers yodel-esque vein. I came up with the imaginatively titled 'the Yodel Song'. It is the only song of mine on YouTube I have put electric guitar on - so far .
If you don't like yodelling, you're asking for trouble clicking on something called 'The Yodel Song'! Anyway I thought I would bite the bullet and put it up on YouTube.
I have put together a slideshow to go with the song, including images of Heath Ledger and Tom Waits, two well known yodellers.
Comments and ratings are invited.
THE YODEL SONG (M Backhouse)
Working out of a factory
Doesn't mean that much to me
Hope that there is more to life than this
Drivin' home in the moonlight
Making something of my life
Singing songs that go something like this...
Chorus
Yodel-aaa-ee-oh
Yodel-aaa-ee-oh
I don't know what I want to do
Things are changing but I knew
Being down and out would never do
Headed off to the great beyond
Met some thieves and vagabonds
On a road with many twists and turns
Ripping off everything I owned
Things were going up and down
Till I started turning things around
Chorus
Yodel-aaa-ee-oh
Yodel-aaa-ee-oh
I don't know what's important now
But I know you sure stood out
I only know I need some love somehow
