DESCRIPTION:
"TRIANGULAR SKIES" - "TOUCH THE SKY" by YENRAV'S KARMA - 2011 Edit, From Yenrav's Karma debut album Triangular Skies released in 1993. The video concept had been all hashed out for the song Touch The Sky and was ready to edit in the A-B roll edit suite. The evening before editing the videographer rang up Yenrav who had already turned in for the evening, to ask for incidental music for a prelude for the bits on the horse. Yenrav immediately sprang up from his bed and turned on his recording machines and wrote and recorded the song Triangular Skies whilst standing in his underwear T.M.I. The next morning he arrived with the new song mixed down to DAT and it was placed as the prelude to the song Touch The Sky as a sort of "artsy-fartsy-what's-all-this-then" introduction to the music video. There were many edits done but Yenrav being the control freak about his own music and how it was represented took it all home and sliced and diced it along with some behind the scenes footage to lighten the whole project up with a bit of levity because he didn't want it to be all totally serious film-school diatripe. As it turned out, the song Traingular Skies was left off of the first pressing of the album and the album basically was released self titled as Yenrav's Karma. Later, when the whole project was remixed for an anniversary CD release, the song Triangular Skies was finally placed on the disc as a track and proceeded Touch The Sky just as it does in the music video. The video was shot by "borrowing" (all returned) equipment from Full Sail Studio in Orlando, Florida. The Interior studio shots were actually taped at Full Sail, the rest of it was shot at various locations in Central Florida. The horse was named Zeke and he only had one good eye so we shot him...from his good side. There was lots of help from various friends in the I.A.T.S.E. Stage Hands Union 631 and some S.A.G. folks as well, along with firends and family with Anne Marie Varney as the "Bird Dancer" and George Varney as "The Little Old Man", The video concept was thought up tenuously by Yenrav and Heather Godwin the Emperess of Gatorland who also stars in the video and sings the higher octave unison vocal in the song. Full Sail students took some turns at shooting some of the video under the tutalidge of their teacher Gil. Ben Moffatt worked very hard as the audio playback dude and laugh-a-minute pal of Yenrav and he and Yenrav shot all of the behind the scenes footage that is intermingled with the regular footage. All in all, everyone had a fun time making this video...except maybe the odd dozen or so doves that went forever missing. Heidi Harriott was the extraordinary high trapeze artist and Ficklin was the guitar god. Jayson Hobb did a great job with all the wardrobe, much of which he specifically made for this video. Heather Godwin was the Director and kept everything running and on track God bless her. Yenrav's Karma exclusively owns the copyright to all music and images included herein and all the music and lyrics were written and recorded by Yenrav except the lead guitar solo by Kevin Ficklin and the extra vocal by Heather Godwin.
