MERCIMER

The Swede Walter Berge is the wizard behind the alias: Mercimer.
- "The essence of a track is the most important factor. Rhythm, melody, and sounds are all subordinate to the feeling a track carries. I don't make songs quickly."

The sounds that interest Mercimer the most are the ones where organic and electronic meet. Every sound needs a little bit of ugly. Every rhythm needs to get knocked about. In order to achieve this, he uses a lot of sampling, choosing tiny slivers of a recording and manipulating them into new instruments and environments. He also records live instruments to combine with electronic soundscapes.

- "I wouldn't call myself a perfectionist though. If I get it right, I want the track to describe a feeling so intense that it envelopes the listener."

LEAGUES EP

Rusted Pop - Swedish sounds filtered through an elaborate range of influences from all across the world. This EP is meant to create an atmosphere, enveloping the listener on a more visceral level. Strains of the beat scene, garage, and other sounds are merged with nordic melodies into a sound that treads between the electronic and the organic. This EP presents the backside of the polished and clean front that Swedish electronic music presents to the world. Mercimer is always open to new styles and influences, which range from Electronic Pop, R'nB, UK bass, Hip Hop and a wide range of beat music.

The single release, Walk At Night, is a collaboration with Lisa Gagerman, an independent artist and songwriter from the north of Sweden. The track recalls a sluggish, dirty version of the electronic pop sound prevalent in the nordic countries. The multilayered vocals distort and change form while a relentless bass register drives the beat forward. No Me No U and Three are both expressions of a garage influence merged with elements of RnB as well as ambient stylings. I'm a Saw presents an open and organic soundscape paired with a heavy Trip Hop beat. The featuring artist, Yellus, is an alias of Alexander Eldefors under which he creates electronic music. Originating from techno he has explored a wide range of genres within electronic music. He also makes neo-psychedelic rock under the alias The Seed Coat. It's A Fire is the second collaboration with Lisa Gagerman. It is a straight melodic pop track hiding a complex and fun play with classic grooves and spacious sound design. The closing track, Say Hello, presents a cinematic ambience where ethereal guitars and pianos meet an ominous bass.
