PUBLISHED:  Dec 31, 2010
DESCRIPTION:
In this 1965 recording, Anne-Marie Beckensteiner is soloist in a performance of the third movement movement of the Harpsichord Concerto in C major, Op. 15, by the classical composer Johann Schobert (c. 17202-1767). Jean-Francoise Paillard leads the Paillard Chamber Orchestra. I created this video from the LP shown above, "Petit Trianon: A Concert For Queen Marie-Antoinette," issued in 1966 jointly by Erato and the Musical Heritage Society, serial number MHS CC-1.

Movement 3: Allegro assai

The Petit Trianon -- where Marie Antoinette went to escape from Louis XVI -- is a small château located on the grounds of the Palace of Versailles in Paris; more information is readily available on the internet.
