Zero dB - On The One & Three - Video
PUBLISHED:  Feb 14, 2014
DESCRIPTION:
Some quality fusions of sounds on show here from Zero dB, as found on the Ninja Tune (ZEN 120) LP 'Bongo's, Bleeps & Basslines'. Alongside this release was a remix LP called 'Heavyweight Gringo's' which features tracks remixed by Peter Kruder, Daedelus, XRabit, Tony Nwachukwu to name a few choice ones as well as one in particular by Daisuke Tanabe on which he lays down a sublime little hip hop jam for the vocals of 'Know What I'm Sayin'. Zero dB's LP at the heart of all this is a pretty pacey affair with South American percussion and carnival-ready flavours. I tend to favour the slower offerings, not really finding occasion to opt for a carnival evocation, though this is not a criticism of what's on offer here. As it happens, I just can't resist the jazzy trumpetings across 'On The One & Three'. Good record.

As always - support your choice producers & labels where and when possible. Buy/collect hard copies/merchandise/see them live/play their records!!! Huge thanks and respect to Ninja Tune, an astounding enterprise! A beacon of pure intelligent and soulful creativity.
