A Tribute to Ustad Sultan Khan - Remembering my dear late friend and his amazing playing I started to search my archives and finally found a recording we did in 2001 in a studio in New York. I thought it must be possible to make a new composition around his Saranghi and his voice and I played along with him (virtually) until the song „Sultan’s Blessings“ emerged. It was such a strong experience for me as if he would sit beside me and play along like we used to do years ago. The mantra Ishq Allah mabutllillah means „God is Love, Lover and Beloved“
