Yes, I also like The Wipers, a little-known punk rock band from late 70's to the late 90's. Lead by Greg Sage, they were a massive influence of Portland, Oregon punk and grunge, and also one of Kurt Cobain's biggest influences.
The Wipers were not very commercial or successful. They were essentially an "anti-music industry band", insofar that they did little advertising, interviews, etc. I guess you could say they had a similar mindset to Fugazi. No one could ever say The Wipers ever sold out, or anything.
"The Circle" was their sixth and last album before a five-year hiatus. This is one of their stronger records, in my opinion. Far more polished and diverse than, say, "Is This Real?"
Enjoy!
