Winther-John

British born Marcus Winther-John moved to Denmark at the age of 12. His musical carreer started seriously in the mid 90´s where he become well known as the charismatic lead singer in the grunge inspired band "Inside the Whale". After releasing 2 albums ( on Sony DK) and touring extensively in Denmark, France, Spain & Germany they released their first album with danish lyrics (Rebeller uden sag) in ´98. The first single, "Hvor er tiden der ta´r os" (now a danish evergreen and voted into the top 10 best danish songs ever by danish national radios listeners) led the way to their national breakthrough. More touring followed and in 2000 Inside the Whale released their final album "Tænk hvis du gik glip af noget". But after one last tour the childhood buddies decided to disband and explore new musical territories seperately.



An aclaimed songwriter, Marcus co-wrote many songs for his close friend Tim Christensens 2 multi platinum selling solo albums and has also written with and for the danish country diva Ester Brohus, Gry Trampedach, Teitur and many more.



In 2003 Winther-John´s addictively catchy "High on you" got the ball rolling by becoming song of the week on national radio. The next singles "Let´s get tattoos" & "Like you" (from debut cd- "Grow") followed in it´s footsteps with abundant airplay, and once again Marcus hit the road.

Work on the second Winther-John album "Come to Copenhagen" has recently been concluded and will be ready for release in Denmark early this autumn (on Noiz music) and the debut album "Grow" is due for release shortly in South Korea !
