In 2012, A Christmas Celtic Sojourn celebrated its 10th anniversary. Many of the precious moments were reprized in that show including this painfully evocative tune, A Daisy in December, played by the incomparable Winifred Horan. A graduate of the New England Conservatory in Boston and a found member of Solas, Win has the sweetest tone you could imagine. She is also a brilliant writer as evidenced by this air. Add Eamonn McElholm on piano, the plaintive accordion of Mick McCauley, the strings of Natalie Haas (cello) and Chris Stout (viola), and you have something truly special to start the second half of the show. What a moment!
