ARTIST BIO,

Reining from Fayetteville, North Carolina, William Zaybiane moved to the Triad area 8 years ago and began molding his unique hip-hop craft. Will Zay's influences along the way come from artists such as AZ, Big-L, Jay-Z, Nas, Rakim, GangStarr, and Eminem, just to name a few. North Carolina has that "dirty south" reputation, which couldn't be further from the truth. There is an eclectic mix of talent within the North Carolina hip-hop scene and William Zaybiane is a true east coast emcee.

Will Zay started off his career recording his first demo with Bridgeman Recording based out of Asheboro, North Carolina in January 2003. As Tony Bridgeman was shopping the demo to different labels, will was on the prowl winning many battles and open mic contests around North Carolina and Virginia. In December 2003, William Zaybiane was signed by the independent label, Shenin Records. While signed with Shenin Records, Will Zay put out his first full album "The Manuscript" which sold over a thousand copies within the first few months. Unfortunately, shortly after signing with Shenin Records, the label collapsed leaving Will Zay back where he started. Relentless, William Zaybiane continued performing on his own, drawing huge crowds of fans at every show. Packing out venue after venue, clubs could no longer deny that Will Zay was the next up-and-comer.

While doing his own shows, Will Zay hooked up with Tre'Styles and Ed. E Ruger. Together they continued to sale out venues around the Triad. In January 2005, Zaybiane hooked up with local producer, Scoop. William Zaybiane and Scoop performed many shows, along with recording the start of a new album. Not long after, local emcee/producer Phorinsics joined the crew along with Tenacious and Big Lan the Heavy Set. In 2006, William Zaybiane released his second full length album "Relentless Ambition", which some say is an underground NC classic.

Back solo again William Zaybiane is currently working on his 3rd album "ILLINFORMED". Working with Will is producer Double J "The Jenious", who is a two time BeatBattle Champ, Owner of Iconoclast Studios, and one of several beat producers for Adult Swim's "The Boondocks". The album, ILLINFORMED, will also feature Will Ski from Jay-Z's album "Reasonable Doubt", Reef, and Florida up-and-coming producer Timeless. The album will also feature cutz by Phorinsics and Dj Philli Phresh. Will Zay will also release Illinformed through Ty Bru's Mightier than the Sword records. ''Ty has been a great friend through the years we've worked together and he's allways there if you need him. Not only does he work hard for himself but he also does for others. And with him opperating out of Asheboro, the move just made sence.''

With the new album, William Zaybiane will once again prove he's got what it takes to make it. Will Zay will continue to rock clubs like no other emcee in the area. With over 450 shows already under his belt, William Zaybiane is here to stay.

Ultimatly Will Zay wants to Kirt Kobane hip-hop and end most of the wack, unoriginal pop rap era, like Nirvana did to the hair bands back in 91'. Attacking the mic with skill, complex lyrics, and concept while still being able to rock the clubs and the radio. The demand on a main streem level is there, William Zaybiane wants to supply it.
