DESCRIPTION:
Original song and archival images of the New Jersey based band The Spinning Jennys (1993-1995). The independent band played throughout New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania at venues including the famed Stone Pony, Limelight and Chameleon Club opening for acts including The Farm, Lotion and Fury And The Slaughterhouse. The Jennys recorded both a 4-song eponymous ep in 1994 and a 10-song CD entitled "Last But Not Least..." in 1995. The band fused British-based new wave and 90's alternative rock to create a unique, melodic yet driving, tribal sound alternately compared to Tears for Fears, Jesus Jones, School of Fish, Jane's Addiction and Nine Inch Nails. Band members included Bryan McKenna (vocals and guitars), Matthew Boffin (vocals, keyboards and sequencing), David Burden (drums), Mark Capalbo (guitars 1993-94) and Will Deynes (bass 1994-95).
