DESCRIPTION:
Ze Whiz Kidz were a Seattle glam comedy troupe that booked their own gigs in venues that included an abandoned night club in historic Smith Tower. They shared a bill with Alice Cooper at Paramount Northwest to present "Puttin' Out Is Dreamsville," one of their most elaborate productions.

I shot this silent Super-8 movie at the U-District Street Fair the first time I met Ze Whiz Kidz. A few months later I found out they lived down the street from me on Capitol Hill and started designing for them. The peak for me was doing a flyer and sets for their show at Paramount N.W. on a bill with Alice Cooper.

Tomata Du Plenty and Melba Toast later formed proto punk group The Tupperwares that evolved to become L.A.'s iconic Screamers punk band.
Seen here at Seattle's University DIstrict Street Fair, May 1971. In order of appearance: Palm Springs, Satin Sheets (later fronted The Lewd punk band), Tomata Du Plenty, Cha Cha Samoa, Melba Toast, and Gorilla Rose.

Believed to be the only footage of Ze Whiz Kidz, besides a single episode TV talk show.
