White Vinyl

White Vinyl Formed in late 2006 when Louis Garbutt (Drums), Louis Dawkins (Bass/Guitar) and Tom Porter (Guitar/Bass/Vocals) were joined by brother of Louis G, Tim Garbutt (Acoustic Guitar/ Vocals). The band started writing immediatly and were given a debut gig with only a 20 minute set, of with inclided a few covers. Since there debut in September 2006 White Vinyl have since written an hour and a half set of purley their own songs. This hard work was repayed with gigs in places such as Durham, Sunderland and even a gig at London's The Rhythm Factory with 'Hatcham Social' and 'Tokyo Dragons'. Promoters have also trusted White Vinyl as the local support to bigger bands coming to the North East. For example 'Friendly Fires' at Ku Bar in Stockton and their most notable local gig, playing the Empire in Middlesbrough for the second time supporting The Maccabees.



White Vinyl now have a respectable following in and around Teeside which is growing all the time.



The band has since written their set in a style most are not confident to pigeonhole, incorperating Indie, Folk, Punk and a ducting of Rock n Roll.

White Vinyl describe themselves as a band playing a blend of infectious FOLK/FUNK/POP music. At first I wasn’t to sure how this was going to work, but upon listening you notice they’ve got there own unique style, I was hooked from the first track on there demo ‘Not Enough’, you cant help but sing along and the songs seems to, like it or not, stick in your head. Fortunately I liked it!

Expect to here a lot more from this band in the future, so have a listen now and see what you think, but be warned you WILL be humming along.
