"EL CAMINO"

I grew up in a small town on the coast of Oregon. And believe it or not, back then and back there some people still cared about who had the fastest car in town. Weekend cruising still happened. I was too young to participate, but my brother and his friends did (someday I'll write a song about Van Patton's GTO... MERCY!).

Even as young as I was, I knew - and everybody knew - that the fastest guy in town had an El Camino. It was black with flames on the front. Holy smokes it was fast. Just brutal power. And the El Camino... what a crazy vehicle.

So in the spirit of the Beach Boys and all the great car songs of rock tradition, here's my tribute to that ridiculous El Camino. Donations to the "Buy Paul Wayland His Own Ridiculous El Camino Fund" are welcome. :-)
