Until very recently, I had no idea of what a great communicator she was. I highly recommend exploring the wonderful website dedicated to this great artist. Music critic Michael White is chiefly responsible for this great site which is filled with many audio excerpts -- including these! The site also has extensive images, articles, and narrative which present her distinguished career in wonderful detail.

And here's an excerpt from a review of this recording:
"Anyone who heard Jennifer Vyvyan... will know how successfully she can breathe life into the artificial passions of eighteenth-century opera...." Gramophone magazine (October, 1960).
