'Umpa da da' by Charlie McMahon and Gondwana - Video
PUBLISHED:  Mar 20, 2012
DESCRIPTION:
This is a video I recently put together featuring Charlie McMahon and Gondwana.
Charlie McMahon's Gondwana act on this video features Martin Eley on guitar, Paul Schravemade on keyboards, Perro the dog and myself shooting the video and pushing a Solar powered Sunny bin wheelie bin sound system.
The film was shot south of the borders of imagination at Sydney's Circular Quay, the lane behind Tortuga Studios, May Lane and Sydney Park and utilised the Monster Cantina mobile sound system truck. (www.monstercantina.com)
The track entitled "Umpa da dA" will be released on Charlie's new album called 'Didgeheart' by U.K label ARC music. More info at at www.didgeheart.com or www.arcmusic.co.uk
I drew and created the animations and brewed up the Spaghetti Western theme marrying Mexican and Australian themes creating the lo-fi animated sections. The images and sequences were put together in After FX and Photoshop.
The two days shooting were a lot of fun, half way through the Circular Quay shoot a security guard told us to move on, me managed to negotiate a further 10 minutes so we could finish, this can be seen towards the end of the video.
