Anna Lucia Richter & Michael Gees have been working together now for many years and this is their first album together. The core of their musical relationship is improvisation. They do so, on this album with the poems of Eichendorff. Who also was the writer of the Liederkreis cycle which Schumann set to words so beautifully. But Anna Lucia Richter and Michael Gees wanted just for once to relieve Schumann’s work of its heritage protection in favor of letting themselves be led by their “most Romantic” sense of the possible. In this way they have imagined, between the songs, spaces for further ideas and elements. So Richter and Gees wander, wonder and ponder further on Romanticism, 'reality' and the possibilities you can create putting Schumann's Liederkreis besides Britten's folksongs, Brahms' folksongs arrangements and the improvisations.

In this video you can hear five pieces of this beautiful album and an interview with Anna Lucia Richter and Michael Gees.

The songs which are used, are:
- Der Alte Garten - (Extempore) - Johann Freiherr von Eichendorff
- Nachtwanderer (Extempore) - Johann Freiherr von Eichendorff
- Waldesgespräch (from Liederkreis op.39) - Robert Schumann
- The trees they grow so high - Benjamin Britten
- Wünschelrute - (Extempore) - Johann Freiherr von Eichendorff
