MXR Uni-Vibe Review
I finally got my hands on the new 2014 MXR Uni-Vibe. This is a shrunken down version of a classic effect. I play a Fender strat through it to an Egnater Tweaker 15 with an Egnater 1 x 12 Celestion vintage 30 cabinet mic'ed with a Sennheiser E609.

Update: These are now on Amazon for $129 http://amzn.to/1i1aBUC

With the new MXR Uni-Vibe pedal, Bob Cedros from MXR took a ridiculous amount of measurements from an original unit's circuit which he then used to create a version that is extremely small and rock solid as far as reliability goes. Using FET circuits allows this pedal to stay consistent as well as being true-bypass.

The new Uni-Vibe is housed in the same sized metal case that the MXR Phase 90 uses, making it extremely pedal board friendly. This is in fact the same pedal minus the paint job that was used as part of the Jimi Hendrix 70th Anniversary pedals released by MXR/Dunlop last year.

The Uni-Vibe features three controls, speed, level, depth and a fourth control to switch between chorus and vibe. The level control is especially useful to have on a vibe pedal due to the phase shifting occurring with the guitar signal. Often times when you kick in a vibe pedal, your guitar signal drops as a result of the phase shifting effect that is going on. With the new Uni-Vibe pedal, the volume control allows you to boost your signal a little so the effect is much more audible.
