Zhang Xi (張希),A First Violin with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra since 1999, Zhang Xi is a graduate of the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. She has also studied under Alice Shoenfield at the University of Southern California (USC), and with Zvi Zeitlin at the Music Academy of The West, in Santa Barbara.

Ms. Zhang has performed in several cities of China and the United States, as well as on tour in North Korea (with the Chinese Children's Artists Troupe), Switzerland (Chinese Musicians Association), France (Chinese Youth Orchestra) and Czechoslovakia (Central Conservatory Women's Quartet). Solo performances include with the Young Musician Foundation Debut Orchestra, the Marina del Rey-Westchester Symphony Orchestra and with the Chinese Musicians Association, in Beijing and Guangzhou. Festival appearances include at the 1996 International Schleswig-Holstein Festival, where she performed in chamber and orchestra concerts conducted by Helmuth Rilling and Kurt Sanderling.

Prizes and awards include being a National Finalist and Los Angeles and California State Winner in the Solo Competition of the American Teachers Association (1998), Winner of the Young Musician Foundation Solo Competition (1997), Winner of the Maurice K. Parness Concerto Competition of the Marina del Rey-Westchester Symphony Orchestra (1996) and Third Prize of the International Radio Competition in Czechoslovakia and Special Prize for the Performance of a Czech Composition (1986). The Central Conservatory Women's Quartet received an honorary award in the International Young Musicians Competition held by the Radio Czechoslovakia Prague (1987) and was invited to perform in the city's Young Musicians Festival the following year.

Zhang Xi has also been a member of the USC Symphony Orchestra (Principal Violin), USC Opera (Concertmaster), Young Musician Foundation Debut Orchestra (Assistant Concertmaster) and the American Youth Symphony (Assistant Principal Violin).
