DESCRIPTION:
This is DEATH CULT mkII - Ian Astbury, Billy Duffy, Jamie Stewart & the now late Nigel Preston. Recorded shortly after the exchange of drummers with Sex Gang Children (Ray Mondo went to SGC and Nigel Preston joined DC) and a couple of months before they appeared on ITV's The Tube when it was announced that they had dropped the Death and would now be known as The Cult.

Like Southern Death Cult in '82, Death Cult shone brightly and briefly. Within a few years they had become a corny Led Zep tribute act filling rock arenas across America...but when they played this half empty hall in a remote coastal town in North East England, I saw something original and stunning. So here it is, for the record, some thirty-plus years on...a ropey bootleg from a rare night in Redcar !
