“U dot capital C, hot as it gets!!!”



Born in the late-70’s in San Jose, CA, hip-hop had not yet become the powerful force it is today. He was raised in a suburb of San Francisco called Redwood City by a single mother who would later move him and his sister to Washington State when he was about 8 years old.



By the year 1993 hip-hop had exploded everywhere, especially on the West Coast which had become particularly popular at that time. It was around this time that U.C. first met S.P. who was already rhyming and would eventually convince UnCommon to pick up a pen and pad himself.



What started out as just freestylin’ for fun, would soon turn into writing and recording songs with S.P. under the group name “Ebony and Ivory”. As Ebony and Ivory, the two rappers were gaining quite a buzz in the North West underground scene which led to them having the opportunity to open up for such national acts as: Bone Thugs and Harmony, Digital Underground and The Roots.



At this point U.C. had built somewhat of a relationship with the local radio station Kube 93 and was doing commercials and radio drops for them on a regular basis, as well as being a constant mainstay on their’ freestyle radio show called, “The Roll Call”.



After years of grinding it out on the local scene UnCommon met a rapper from New Jersey named, “MIZ”, who had just moved out to the West Coast and was also building a small buzz for himself. This led to the formation of the rap collective known as “The Real Life Click’ or the “RLC”.



In the summer of 2007 the RLC signed an independent recording deal with Hi Rollerz Records out of Portland, OR. UnCommon is currently working on the RLC Compilation as well as a new upcoming mixtape from the collective.



Until then you can catch U.C. on the Coast2Coast mixtape series droppin’ heat, and also the new upcoming album from S.P. titled, “The Appreciation Of…”, being released on Hi Rollerz Records in February of 2008.
