Grupa TYMON & THE TRANSISTORS powstala w lipcu 2002 roku na Przystanku Olecko. Pierwszy sklad TRANSISTORSÓW to kwartet z Tymonem Tymanskim, Radkiem Skrodzkim oraz bracmi Marcinem i Filipem Galazkami. Po paru miesiacach Skrodzkiego zastapil sopocki basista Tomasz Kvajah Szymborski; niebawem, wraz z Filipem Galazka, Szymborski zasilil sekcje rytmiczna swiezo reaktywowanej Brygady Kryzys, legendy polskiej sceny alternatywnej. W latach 2002-2003 TRANSISTORSI pracowali nad soundtrackiem do glosnego filmu „Wesele" w rezyserii Wojtka Smarzowskiego (w nagraniu plyty, jako goscie specjalni, wzieli m.in. Lech Janerka, Robert Brylewski oraz Jacek Lachowicz). Zarówno film jak i plyta byly szeroko komentowane oraz nagradzane (za muzyke do „Wesela" Tymanski zdobyl Orla 2003 oraz Zlota Kaczke czasopisma „Film"). Film przybliza casus feralnej nocy weselnej, która odbywa sie na pewnej podkarpackiej wsi. Znakomicie opowiedziana historia jest pretekstem do ujawnienia szerokiej gamy ludzkich wad: chciwosci i skapstwa, falszu i obludy, malostkowosci i indyferencji moralnej. W latach 2004-2006 TRANSITORSI sporo koncertowali i pracowali nad nastepnym, powazniejszym w tonie materialem, który znalazl sie na drugiej plycie pt. „Don't Panic! We're From Poland". Dominuja na nim surowe hard rockery, przeplatane melodyjnymi balladami oraz intrygujacymi numerami w klimacie 'nowofalowego' reggae. Album ukazal sie na poczatku 2007 nakladem trójmiejskiego wydawnictwa Biodro Records. W miedzyczasie Szymborskiego zastapil gdynski basista Arek Krasniewski, udzielajacy sie w kilku alternatywnych trójmiejskich formacjach. Obecnie zespól równolegle pracuje nad dwoma przedsiewzieciami: musicalem pt. „Polskie Gówno" oraz plyta pt. „The Bigos Heart". Ta ostatnia to kompilacja najlepszych utworów Trupów i Czanu (dawnych formacji Tymanskiego) w nowych aranzacjach TRANSISTORSÓW. Na plycie znajdzie sie równiez szesc nowych utworów grupy; jako specjalni goscie pojawia Leszek Mozdzer, Grzegorz Halama, Daniel Hertzov oraz Kuba Staruszkiewicz. Z kolei „Polskie Gówno" to okazaly projekt, w ramach którego powstaje fabularny film w rezyserii Grzegorza Jankowskiego (eks-Lossskot). W filmie zobaczymy cala plejade koryfeuszy polskiej sceny alternatywnej z Mitch & Mitchem, Dick 4 Dickiem, Von Zeitem, Scianka, Kobietami i grupa Homosapiens. Oprócz samego zespolu, w aktorskich rolach pojawia sie m.in. Grzegorz Halama, Robert Brylewski, Sonia Bohosiewicz, Elzbieta Jarosik, Arek Jakubik, Bene Rychter, Adam Woronowicz, Konrad Imiela, Cezary Studniak oraz Pawel Konjo Konnak. Premiera filmu planowana jest na czerwiec roku 2010; w tym samym czasie ukaze sie równiez podwójny album pt. "Polskie Gówno"/"The Best of Polish Rock", na którym znajda sie zarówno utwory zespolu i parodiowanych przez TRANSISTORSÓW kapel, jak i najciekawsze songi konkursu piosenki futbolowej

TYMON & THE TRANSISTORS got together in Olecko in the picturesque lake district of Mazury. The initial line-up consisted of bassist Radek Skrodzki and Galazka brothers, Marcin on guitar and Filip on drums. In April 2003 Skrodzki was replaced by Tomasz "Kvajah" Szymborski, the member of Sopot's BIAFRA and THE PLEMNIORS. In June 2006 TYMON & THE TRANSISTORS' rhythm section joined the newly reactivated BRYGADA KRYZYS, Polish alternative rock legend of the 80-ties. The quartet toured Poland, Germany and Latvia, polishing their early repertoir. In July 2003 they entered a studio to record a soundtrack for Wojtek Smarzowski's "Wesele" (The Wedding), one of the most important movies of the decade. The songs were a miscellaneous collection of mock-wedding repertoir, ranging from 60'-like pastiches, absurd rock'n'rollers, vernacular ballads and robust bedtime crooners, the music covering the whole span of styles from the Beatles and the Clash to Beck. The movie tells a story of a dramatic wedding night; the heroes drown their petty-mindedness, cunning, bigotry and parsimony in hectoliters of vodka against the setting of raw, blood-sucking early-capitalist landscape. "The Wedding" was broadly commented and lavishly awarded with lots of trophies (6 awards at the Gdynia Film Festival and 7 awards of the Polish Film Academy). In 2007 TYMON & THE TRANSISTORS put out their second album called "Don't Panic! We're From Poland". This time music was quite earnest, making the band's repertoir split into the Zappa-like 'mock' and 'serious' categories. Some of the songs were raw hard rockers, the other - melodious ballads or 'sophisticated' reggae pieces.The album was published by Tymanski' s notorious Biodro Records, one of the most inflential Polish indie records' labels. At present TYMON & THE TRANSISORS are working on two following projects. The first one is their third record, "The Bigos Heart", to be published in the fall of 2009. The second is an alternative musical, wittily dubbed "Polskie Gówno" (Polish Shit), being a remote sybling to Reiner's "This Is Spinal Tap" and Zelenka' s "Year Of The Devil". The script, written by Tymanski, tells a story of a ill-fortunate tour, undertaken by a band of musicians-failures. Their manager (aptly played by a great stand-up artist and comedian, Grzegorz Halama) is a fraud, gambler and ladies' man, constantly abusing the band's confidence and idealism. The groups' driver is an ever-stoned, incorrigibly optimistic sessionhack (the role held by a Polish alt rock legend, Robert Brylewski- BRYGADA KRYZYS, IZRAEL). TRANSISTORS decide to take part in a nationwide, live show football song contest, where they will compete against other alt rock and pop squads (played by an army of modern Polish alternative scene bands). The best band will receive a a big financial prize and will confront a chance to perform at an opening ceremony for the Polish/Ukrainian 2012 European Champs - indeed a rewarding challenge.
