Boards of Canada / Warp Records white shop front "LOADING BAY" opposite Rough Trade East - Video
PUBLISHED:  Apr 27, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
So this happened on a visit to Rough Trade East today. Mysterious whited-out shopfront beneath the "LOADING BAY" name opposite the Rough Trade shop. In the corner of the shopfront is the Warp Records logo. What we heard when leaving Rough trade was this on loop - the recent RSD-driven Boards of Canada jingle + numbers thing. However, this time only five digits, though I'm fairly certain each loop had different numbers.

During the jingle, we could hear someone uncoiling cables. Whether this points to a sound installation or even a live performance outside Rough Trade East is anyone's guess, but something's happening in there.

The strange metallic drones from 0:36 until the jingle at 1:05 are coming from the shop. Also, I think the numbers are being read in a different voice than (some of) the other codes. Also, the 55742 is a bit of a guess - it's pretty difficult to hear what the numbers actually are from outside the shop. (Apparently these could actually be 699742 - a code already "discovered") However, there are a couple of post flaps along the bottom of the shop doors if any avid fans want to hear what's going on in there a little more clearly.

The freeloading arse that I am, I think you should listen to this:
