PUBLISHED:  Oct 11, 2016
DESCRIPTION:
Dr. Deanna Little, Professor of Flute at Middle Tennessee State University, discusses and reviews the Azumi AZ1, AZ2, AZ3.

Azumi AZ1, AZ2, and AZ3 flutes are designed by Altus flute maker, Shuichi Tanaka and William Bennet and feature a more modern scale with better tuning that allows students right from the very beginning to play on a well tuned flute.

The Azumi AZ1, AZ2, and AZ3 flutes also feature an Altus head joint with a “Z” cut, which is rectangular in shape allowing the student to have a quicker response without losing flexibility and control of their sound.

Azumi flutes are available in three models: the AZ1 which is silver plated with a sterling silver lip plate and riser. The AZ2 features a sterling silver head joint, a silver plated body and the option of either an inline or offset G, a split E mechanism or without a split E mechanism. The AZ3 is fully constructed of all sterling silver and features three different options: an inline or offset G, a split E mechanism or without a split E mechanism or you may choose a C# trill key.
