ABOUT THE RELEASE

Tripnotic was keeping the dancefloors and airwaves busy with his remixes in the last few years, but we haven't heard an original song of his since the drum'n'bass excursion called Phantom. The wait is over, as he returns with Tricky Three, a song developing from the ideas used in his remix of Djaikovski's smash Hell Of A Road. Tricky Three is a curious mixture of breaks aesthetics laid over a strong electro beat with some trademark Tripnotic glitchy interventions. The remix support comes from some of the most intriguing producers on the breaks scene. Josh Chambers, the fastest rising US breaks star, has kept the punch of the original and built a peak-time club favorite on top of it. Balkan Beat innovator Djaikovski has stepped out of his comfort zone and opted for a big club sound combining a reggae influence, growling bass and furious percussion work. Finally, breakbeat heavyweights Ways & Means (Kristian 'Alpha Proxima' Townsend, Kosheen's Darren Beale and Gary Eccles) further examine their newly found affection for glitch-hop by slowing down Tricky Three and turning it onto its head to an extremely pleasing effect.

Producer, remixer, radio and club DJ, promoter and label owner, Tripnotic has never been a fan of music genre boundaries. After taking a long break from studio work, with the exception of the occasional remix, he is back with a series of EPs exploring every corner of the electronic music universe.
