About Chris Cain (website extract): Chris Cain's expressive style is the result of a lifetime of study and the relentless pursuit of music mastery, his passion and intensity blending his mother's Greek ancestry and his father's soulful black heritage. Cain attended his first B.B King concert at the tender age of three. At the age of eight, Cain taught himself to play guitar and began playing professionally before he was eighteen. Chris studied music at San Jose City College, and was soon teaching jazz improvisation on campus. Over the next twenty years, Cain would also master piano, bass guitar, clarinet, alto and tenor saxophone. The combination of his blues upbringing and his jazz studies melded to form the searing guitar style that sets Chris Cain apart and has moved him to the top ranks of the blues music scene. As a guitarist/singer, Chris has been praised by mentors like Albert King and peers like Robben Ford."

Daniel Castro: Daniel was born in Ensenada, Baja California and also lived in Tijuana. The family later moved to Buena Park, California when Daniel was eight. Even as young kids, Daniel and his older brother Mario wanted to play guitar. "In Tijuana we found an old piece of plywood in a field. We took it home and cut two guitars out of it, painted on the knobs and pick guard, and strung some fishing line with nails on them." After bugging their mother and father for years they finally got their first real guitar from Sears, a St. George electric guitar with no amplifier. The brothers shared the right-handed guitar, which was no problem for Mario who was right-handed but a huge problem for Daniel who was a lefty. In 1969, Daniel's brother Mario was killed in a car accident. Daniel was fifteen at the time. "I was sitting on the curb in front of our house after my brother's funeral and a friend came up and said ‘Daniel you take that guitar and play your heart out for Mario wherever you go.’" And that’s what Daniel’s been doing ever since.

Steve Evans: San Francisco Bay Area musician Steve Evans is one of the most sought after bassists because of his ability to adapt his playing technique across a wide spectrum of musical genres. He has backed numerous icons of R&B including Etta James, Bo Diddley, Mary Wells, Charlie Musselwhite, Big Mama Thornton, Tracy Nelson, Lee Dorsey. Pee Wee Ellis, The Drifters, and rock artists Bob Weir & Kingfish, keyboardist Brian Auger, Joan Baez, New Riders of the Purple Sage, Maria Muldaur, Swiss pop star Phil Carmen (featuring Dire straits drummer Pick Withers) and more. In the last decade and a half, Steve has recorded and/or toured nationally and internationally with numerous guitar greats including slide guitar virtuoso Roy Rogers, Pat Travers, Harvey Mandel, Coco Montoya and more. In the midst of Steve’s hectic schedule, he also finds time to give lessons to individuals who are seriously dedicated to learning the Electric Bass. His former students include Chris Chainey (Alice in Chains, Alanis Morrissette (and Juan Alderete of the Mars Volta, who mentions Steve as a major influence in a recent issue of Bass Player Magazine on which Juan graces the cover. Toured and recorded with: Roy Rogers (5 CDs), Coco Montoya (2 CDs). Recent Recording Projects: Pat Travers Power Trio CD2- CD, Tyler Nelson- Great White Guitarist (new CD). Mick Mestek: Most people know Mick Mestek for his work with Tower of Power, with whom he toured for three years and recorded the 1987 album "Power". But his resume certainly doesn't end there. Among Mick's many touring and recording credits include Etta James, Tracy Nelson, Buddy Miles, Pete Escovedo, Charlie Musselwhite, Omega, blues guitarists Tommy Castro, Daniel Castro, Ron Thompson, Roy Rogers, bassist/producer Curtis Ohlson, R&B singer Rosie Gaines, guitarist/composer Ray Obiedo and a who's who of Bay Area favorites including The Hoodoo Rhythm Devils, Tortilla Soup and Manzo.
