George Schweinfest (1862-1949) was one of the recording pioneers. In the mid-1890s he began recording both on cylinders and on the earliest records.

He made his first recordings for the Berliner company in September 1899 (according to the Discography of American Recordings (DAHR).

George Schweinfest recorded on the piccolo, flute and violin for Berliner, Victor and Columbia from 1899 to 1910.

"Dance Of The Pirates" was recorded in Camden, NJ on March 16, 1901. This is take 4, George Schweinfest made three earlier takes in late 1900, also for Victor.
