La storia della musica leggera annovera Antonio Delle Donne, iscritto alla SIAE come autore della parte letteraria e compositore, tra quegli infervorati talenti che diedero vita, sul fiorire degli anni Settanta, a gruppi di musica pop; era infatti giovanissimo allorché fondo "The Florials", meritevoli di successo non solo nazionale.
Faceva parte dei Florials il chitarrista inglese Paul Manners, che seguì poi le fortune de "I Cugini di Campagna", e, con i suoi musicisti Antonio Delle Donne diede vita ai primi raduni rock, sulla scia di Woodstock, mentre affrontava entusiasmanti tournèe, in quasi tutto il mondo, ottenendo risposte sempre positive o eccezionali come quelle memorabili in Tunisia, Germania, Grecia, Svizzera … …
Nel 1975, scioltosi il gruppo dei Florials, Antonio Delle Donne, affermato autore di brani che non sono mai sbiaditi alla memoria, fonda, insieme con il chitarrista Sandro Conturso, musicista di chiara fama, "I Dolci Pensieri".
Il nuovo gruppo, subito all'attenzione internazionale con "E' l'età", brano inciso con etichetta YEP RECORD, distribuita in Italia da Ricordi, in Francia da Carrere, in Germania da Ariola, canzone che entrò nelle classifiche di mezzo mondo, meritò l'entusiastico interessamento della grande Cristine Leroux, che aveva scoperto Battisti, ed approdò alla televisione francese.
"I Dolci Pensieri" furono ospiti di numerosi spettacoli televisivi, tra cui "Adesso Musica" condotto da Vanna Brusio su RAIUNO, e parteciparono al GIROFESTIVAL 78, condotto da Pippo Baudo, con "Torna Piccina Mia" di Bixio-Cherubini, e "Dentro di me sto morendo" di Delle Donne-Conturso, 45 giri inciso con l'etichetta discografica CINEVOX famosa in tutto il mondo per le colonne sonore da film; Ha collaborato con artisti di fama mondiale quali "JULI & JIULIE", "I SANTO CALIFORNIA".
Antonio Delle Donne ha all'attivo, come compositore circa 1000 brani depositati alle SIAE, di cui 20 fanno parte della sezione SEMPREVERDI; tra le sue canzoni più belle si ricordano: "Dentro di me sto morendo", "E' l'età", "Silvia e poi…", "Il treno va", "Dolce amore mio", "A lui" (scritta con Antonio Maiello di "Antonio e Marcello").
E' autore de "La crepa", musica composta per l'omonimo cortometraggio del regista fiorentino Romeo Conte, prodotto per la RAI e classificatosi al Festival di Venezia nel 1997, raccolto nella pubblicazione "I Corti Italiani". Ha realizzato un CD con il Gotha del jazz partenopeo, tra cui PIETRO CONDORELLI, MARCO ZURZOLO, I FRATELLI NINI, DANIELE SCANNAPIEGO, I FRATELLI DEIDDA, PIETRO IODICE ecc…
Ha uno spettacolo tutto suo accompagnato da un'orchestra di 5 musicisti e 2 coriste con cui gira l'Italia; ha ricoperto la carica di Presidente Provinciale ENTEL (Ente Nazionale Tempo Libero) del Movimento Cristiano Lavoratori), con tale carica diede vita sul finire degli anni '80, e comunque prima della caduta del muro di Berlino, agli scambi culturali con il popolo cecoslovacco: restano memorabili i concerti di Praga e Bratislava tanto da destare l'interessamento della televisione ceca e slovacca.
Ha collaborato con diverse testate giornalistiche tra cui "IL Mattino" e "La Voce"
E' presidente del Centro Studi "A. Corbisiero" Associazione Campana per la Promozione della Cultura. Direttore Artistico della trasmissione televisiva di RAI 2 UNA GOCCIA NEL MARE a favore della ricerca sulla Thalassemia. E' direttore artistica della DOMUS ARTIS, agenzia di spettacolo e consulenza dello spettacolo. E' l'ideatore della casa editrice LA MELA COTOGNA. E' produttore per la Domus Artis di importanti spettacol quali " CANZONI AL CHIARO DI LUNA " di TOSCA, "TANGO EN FLOR" spettacolo di tango e milonga Argentina. E' produttore del gruppo I BOTTISTI DI PORTICO E MACERATA con cui collabora per la diffusione della musica popolare. Nel 2010 affronta la doppia tournèe, a marzo negli Stati Uniti e ad ottobre negli Stati Uniti ed in Canda.
Ospite di radio e televisioni Americane e Canadesi oltre ad una serie di concerti che hanno toccato non solo New York, per il Columbus Day sia a Weastchester che nella mega Parade Newyorchese, ma anche Toronto,S. Catehrine e Cascate del Niagara. numerosi gli attestati di stima da parte della nutritissima comunità Italiana d'America e Canadese.
