I was so excited to rent my first car and take a ride.
I'd been waiting for years... but then I actually tried.
Rest in peace, my innocent, youthful dreams of unbridled automotive adventure.
Some day I may actually need a credit card, a thought I surely censure.
I don't want those horrid, blood-sucking parasites thrust upon me.
But then I suppose growing up is all about adapting the complexities of industrialized society,
And making do the best you can.
Oh how I envy Peter Pan.
