"I'd like to say that the semi-mutilated mannequin head represents something like beauty that's marred in an effort to capture it as art. Or that it represents Roman Polanski's destructive compulsions that led to his exile. Or that it represents Sam's relationship with HIS art -- a sometimes dysfunctional exercise in joy and self-judgement. Maybe it's something like that. Or maybe it's just some head someone gave me at Burning Man."
