The Vogues - Magic Town (string overlay version) - [original STEREO] - Video
PUBLISHED:  Dec 31, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
When The Vogues Changed Record Companies From The Original Pittsburgh Label "CO & CE" To The Giant Corporate "Reprise" Records, There Music Began To Include More Strings And Orchestration. In 1970, Reprise Records, Under The Guidance Of Arranger And Conductor Ernie Freeman, Released A Greatest Hits Album Featuring Overlayed Stereo Strings As Part Of The Original CO & CE Mono Songs. The Opinions Regarding The Final Product Have Been "Mixed"......But I Have Always Liked Them. In Fact, I Find The Project Itself To Be An Interesting One....Adding Stereo To A Mono Recording. From The 1970 Greatest Hits Album, Here Is The Stereo Overlay Version Of "Magic Town" Which Originally Reached #21 In 1968 On The American "Billboard Hot 100".
