The Vangarde

The Vangarde are a Sydney based alternative electronic music group consisting primarily of Rust (Nick Platers, producer) and Bishop (Michael Sison, vocalist). The two, which have been performing together since meeting in 2006, have received added attention after winning Best Unsigned Dance/Electronica in Australia in 2007, and Best Video Artist for 'Ode To Tokyo' in 2008 at the prestegious Music Oz Awards.



Their music consists of various styles ranging from Big Beat, Drum and Bass and Breaks in their first album 'Double Agent' (2007), to Electronica Rock with Hip Hop vocal elements in the bands sophmore release 'Not Dead Yet' (2009). Newly added band members include Joe Tiribassi (guitarist) and Nathan Klein (drummer). The Vangarde first emerged on the underground Drum and Bass scene, and have since then developed their unique sound that has stemmed from many cultures world wide.
