So You Want to Sound Like Hank Marvin
Hank Marvin is a legend and because of his playing style and unique sound, his music is instantly recognisable. Getting your guitar to sound like "Saint Marvin's" takes more than a video lesson on how to play "Apache" or "Wonderful Land". Of course, a lot of the distinctiveness comes from Hank's characteristic technique but a lot of it will come down to gear and settings. Even if your guitar lessons have brought you to the point that you can master his technique and play the music perfectly, it is just not going to sound as good without the unmistakable Hank Marvin sonic qualities. There are a number of ways to capture Hank's classic tone and you can use this video lesson to identify what you have and what you need to tune in on the amazing vibe that he had. In this video, I will cover the amp, echo, and delay settings and the gear that I use so that you can sound like you are one of the members of "The Shadows".
