OneDollarForMusic (ODFM) is a registered Dutch-Indonesian not-for-profit organization that draws attention to the value of creative and cultural development by organizing projects for young people in collaboration with schools, communities and NGOs in developing countries.

From its establishment in 2007, ODFM has implemented several successful projects in Indonesia. ODFM trained 32 qualified music teachers/coaches, implemented creativity programs at 46 schools, released 4 CD albums with work from young Indonesian composers, a 40 minutes documentary, reached over 5.000 young people with workshops and more than 15.000 visitors at annual festivals and events.

ODFM's objective is the introduction of a sustainable infrastructure for creative development in the field of music, empowering the cultural identity and the improvement of future chances for young musical talent.

ODFM's vision is a generation of young people for whom freedom of expression and creativity enhances their mutual appreciation and understanding, and for whom the idea of human equality is part of their approach to others.

ODFM's mission is to invest in sustainable creativity by strengthening the infrastructure for creative development, freedom of expression and human equality, wherein music functions as a vehicle to activate and to sustain creative development.

ODFM's strategy is to implement musical - creative projects in collaboration with schools and communities, while actively involving local authorities. Sustainable capacity is developed through trainings, workshops, seminars and conferences. With a holistic approach on education, ODFM combines musical elements from traditional (indigenous) origin with modern elements and innovative technologies.

Brief history of activities and projects

1. Young Elastic Band -- 2007 (regional) : cross cultural compositions (traditional & modern) and performances by young musicians and dancers

2. Young Sounds of Bali -- 2008 -- 2010 (provincial) : compositions based on sounds from the environment, created and performed by young musicians

3. Young Sounds of Indonesia -- 2011 (national) : educational support on the creative power of the youth for schools and youth communities, while creating jobs for unemployed musicians

4. Young Global Composers -- 2012 (international) : a web based musical creative exchange program for school students, from 2012 launched worldwide

5. Music School Bali -- since 2010 : school for amateur musicians, individuals and groups, providing music classes on various instruments for all ages, both traditional and modern

6. Music Academy Bali -- since 2012 : academy for professional development of musicians, composers, song writers and sound engineers

7. Young Global Composers -- 2012 (international) : a web based musical creative exchange program for school students, from 2012 launched worldwide
