Leeds' longtime salsa music promoters DJ Lubi and Fabio Bahia are proud to present the return to Leeds of one of the UK and London's top salsa bands SALSEOLOGY. The 12 piece band, led by American pianist Darius Johnson, are inspired by the brass and percussion heavy salsa sound of 1970s New York and musicians such as Tito Puente, Ray Barretto, Willie Colon and Fania Allstars. Their repetoire is completely salsa dancer friendly, a nice mix of hard salsa plus a few slower cha cha cha, boogaloo and salsa romantica tracks in there to avoid a complete dancefloor meltdown! No wonder they are now the salsa dancers' favourite band in the UK.....

This is their first trip to Leeds since early 2012 when they appeared at the DJ Lubi co-promoted event VIVA COLOMBIA to a great reception and they are currently recording their debut album.

If you like your salsa hot and heavy Puerto Rican New York style then you will love SALSEOLOGY. Definately the live salsa concert of the summer in Leeds, Yorkshire and the north east/north west!

DJ Fabio Bahia (Calle Ocho) - 18 years salsa DJ experience and guesting UK wide and beyond nowdays

DJ Philip Charles (My Salsa My Soul/Bailamos) - My Salsa My Soul resident DJ and guests across the UK.

Expect a kicking mix of Puerto Rican, New York, Colombian and Venezuelan salsa from the past and present plus a touch of cha cha cha, mambo, bugalu, Cuban son/salsa, merengue and bachata.

Philip Charles of Bailamos is also a well respected salsa dance teacher guesting across the whole country..

He will also be teaching an intermediates salsa dance class at 9pm. Starts promptly so try get there 5-10 minutes earlier.

This will be Leeds and the region's big summer live salsa session and there won't be another one until November.
